The Daily Script: Weekend Edition

Malcolm Mitchell might have solidified his spot on the Patriots roster by skipping the Rookie Premiere.

1. I’m still laughing at Rex Ryan’s admission that the Jets tried to trade for Odell Beckham Jr. That’s funny!

2. Mike Shanahan should give up the dream of coaching again. He’s had his day in the sun and now it’s time to move on. John Elway is not walking through that door Mike.

3. If promising San Diego a Super Bowl keeps the Chargers there, I’m all for it. The Spanos family wants to keep the team in San Diego and the fans want the team to stay. The two sides have to make it work.

4. Malcolm Mitchell skipping the NFLPA Rookie Premiere to study his playbook makes for a great story but let’s not make it more than it is. While the players union wants the rookies there, it’s not required. Rookies can skip it and focus on working with their team. Either way, I’m sure Belichick will endear himself to Bill Belichick.

5. The Raiders are done in Oakland. When power broker owners like Robert Kraft are supporting the move to Las Vegas, you know it’s probably going to happen.
