After two dominant performances against UMass and Holy Cross, Boston College hits the road for a conference game against the Wale Forest Demon Deacons. Both programs are undefeated and looking for a leg up in the ACC Atlantic Division.
Here are three keys for the Eagles in this game.
1. Get A.J Dillon Going Early: Wake Forest has an undersized front seven. The Eagles need to wear them down by establishing A.J Dillon and the running game. Ball control and keeping Wake’s uptempo offense on the sideline is key tonight for the Eagles.
2. Keep Sam Hartman In the Pocket: Wake Forest freshmen quarterback Sam Hartman is a dual threat quarterback who can make plays with arm and his legs. B.C has to get Wake into long down situations and make Hartman one dimensional. They must keep Hartman in the pocket.
3. Special Teams: Boston College has not punted much in the first two games nor have they returned many kicks. Needless to say, the Boston College special teams will be rusty early on in this game. The Eagles cannot allow specials to be a factor in this game. If they don’t play well on special teams, they will allow Wake to stay in this game.
Final Prediction: Boston College always struggles in Winston-Salem and tonight should be no different. Expect a tight game between these two ACC rivals. The Eagles will be challenged but I think they will find a way to pull it off. Boston College 31 Wake Forest 28
