CHESTNUT HILL- Boston College head coach Bill O’Brien officially put to rest any speculation regarding the team’s offensive leadership. Following the departure of former offensive coordinator Will Lawing to the NFL’s Chicago Bears, O’Brien confirmed that he will personally step into the role of offensive coordinator and primary play-caller for the Eagles.
CHESTNUT HILL – There are certainly more questions than answers when it comes to BC football this season. New coaches, almost half of the roster is brand new and after going 2-10, are the Eagles now truly able to compete in the ever evolving college landscape? BC took the first step in trying to answer all those questions on Tuesday morning when they stepped inside Fish Field House around 9:00……
As the snow melts on Chestnut Hill, the Bill O’Brien era enters a pivotal third spring. Coming off a challenging two-win season in 2025, the Eagles are effectively “re-booting” the program. With a roster overhaul and significant staff changes, this spring practice is less about fine-tuning and more about establishing a new identity.
It’s still stunning that Lewis Bond didn’t get an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine, but Logan Taylor and Jude Bowry repped the Eagles and ‘O-Line U’ well in Indianapolis. The offensive linemen closed out the event with testing and on-field drills on Sunday. Bond should have been there with his teammates – Q Hutchins also had a very good week – but he’ll be able to show out at…
Image courtesy of BC Athletics FOXBOROUGH – They’ll be the first to tell you that games aren’t won and lost on vibes in March. But, after a bunch of change both on the staff and with the roster for Boston College, there’s a quiet excitement brewing inside the offices of Alumni Stadium. Spring ball starts in nine days (depending on when you’re reading this, the day is March 10) and…
Image courtesy of Fordham Athletics Andrew Breiner will reportedly be ‘senior offensive analyst’ on Bill O’Brien’s staff according to Football Scoop. So, while the Eagles don’t technically have an offensive coordinator still (it’s well established NEFJ believes O’Brien should and will ultimately call plays), it’s clear that O’Brien continues to add extremely knowledgable, well-traveled names and faces to the new-look program. Breiner started coaching in 2006, with stops at Lock…
Image courtesy of BC Athletics The good stuff starts on Thursday. It’s NFL Combine week in Indy. Players have gone through interviews with teams and testing, but now the fun begins. That’s because on Thursday, the on-field workouts begin. Edge rushers and defensive linemen kick things off at 3:00 p.m. and BC edge Q Hutchins – who made quite a splash at the Senior Bowl – will be representing the…
Bill O’Brien is entering a make or break third year at the Heights. After offensive coordinator Will Lawing left for the Chicago Bears earlier this offseason season, O’Brien has yet to replace him.
As John Sarianides reported on Tuesday evening, Ben Albert was a name to watch when it comes to the BC D-line position.
