By John Sarianides I would really appreciate it if Raiders owner Mark Davis and the NFL stopped pissing in my ear and telling me it is raining. I get it! The Raiders are leaving Oakland. It is going to be made official this week at the league owners meetings. Let’s stop with all the back and forth nonsense with the city of Oakland. Roger Goodell sending a letter to Oakland…
By John Sarianides I am just babbling about all things football. 1. The Raiders are leaving and there is nothing Oakland can do about it. The city had a chance to keep the team and they dropped the ball. 2. Yes. I can see Darrelle Revis coming back to New England but I still don’t think it is a good idea. Revis is not the same player he was in…
By John Sarianides The thought of Adrian Peterson in a Packers uniform makes no sense on so many levels. It is the same way I felt about Brett Favre in a Vikings uniform. That visual came to fruition. I don’t see Peterson in a Packers uniform happening anytime soon. The Packers reportedly discussed meeeting with Peterson and his representives but decided that his $8 million dollar a season contract demand…
By John Sarianides Barring a pre-draft or draft weekend trade, Tony Romo will be a member of the Dallas Cowboys until June 1st. He shouldn’t make any career plans until then. The Cowboys know they can’t trade Romo because they have no takers. As a result, they will hold onto him until June 1st and then release Romo to go to Houston or where ever else he wants to go….
By John Sarianides The 2017 cornerback class in this draft is the best collection of corners I have scouted in 17 years of covering the draft. This group is talented and deep. Teams will be able to draft potential starters well into day three. As many as five corners could go in the first round. Here is our cornerback preview. 1. Marshon Lattimore, 6-0 193, Ohio State NFL Comparison: Vontae Davis…
By John Sarianides The Malcolm Butler saga has now entered week three and we still don’t know if the beleaguered cornerback will be in a Patriots uniform next season. Butler visited with the Saints last week and the peramters of a long term deal were discussed but the Saints did not sign Butler to a contract. New Orleans wants to sign Butler but they don’t want to give up the…
By John Sarianides The 2017 safety class could be the best collective group of safeties we have seen in the last 15 years. As many as five safeties could potentially go in the first round. Here is my breakdown of the top five safeties as well as fifteen other safeties to watch for. 1. Malik Hooker, FS, 6-2 205, Ohio State, NFL Comparison: Ed Reed Strengths -Hooker has elite ball…
By John Sarianides Eddie Lacy and Dontari Poe both signed one year deals last week with the Seattle Seahawks and the Atlanta Falcons respectively. What was unique about both contracts is that they had weight clauses in them. In the case of Lacy, his incentives centered around him showing up to training camp 15-20 pounds lighter. Lacy was supposedly weighed last week on a free agent visit and weighed in…
By John Sarianides Tom Brady’s Super Bowl jersey has been found! According to FOX Sports Jay Glazer, NFL Security and the FBI have confirmed that the jersey was found and it will be returned to Brady. Glazer did not elaborate in his report as to who had the jersey or if there will be any charges pressed. The jersey could have fetched up to $500,000 at a sports memorabilia auction…
By John Sarianides Local media have been tossing around the idea in recent days of the Patriots signing free agent cornerback Darrelle Revis if they trade Malcolm Butler. Signing Revis would be a mistake in my opinion. The notion that a Revis, Patriots union is possible is ludacris. If the Patriots move on from Malcolm Butler, the last guy they should bring into their building is Darrelle Revis. Revis is…
