March 2, 2016

The 2016 combine is in the books. It was an eventful weekend in Indy. Some players shined, some flopped. Here are my five winners and losers from the 2016 Scouting Combine. (courtesy of Sports Illustrated) Carson Wentz Winners Carson Wentz, Quarterback, NDSU: Wentz was impressive in the interview process and on the field. MLB At Large: Rob Manfred Brings Down the Hammer on Aroldis Chapman and rightfully so.

March 1, 2016

Commissioner Rob Manfred got people’s attention with today’s ruling.  Major League Baseball announced today that Yankees reliever Aroldis Chapman has been suspended for 30 games for violating the league’s new Domestic Violence policy. Chapman announced that he is not appealing the suspension. He will eligible to return to the Yankees on May 9th. I give baseball commissioner Rob Manfred credit for coming down on Chapman. Doc’s Daily Blurb: Kyrie Wants Out of Cleveland. GOOD!

March 1, 2016

The Cavs are a disaster. Its not good when your second and third best players want out of town. It looks like David Blatt wasn’t the problem after all.   The Bruins and soon to be free agent Loui Eriksson have reached an impasse in contract negotiations. So, the Bruins need to do the right thing and trade Eriksson. With Eric Staal traded this afternoon, Eriksson becomes the most valuable offensive player on the market. Don Sweeney needs to strike while the iron is hot. Doc’s Daily Rants: Weekend Edition.

February 28, 2016

Donnie Sweets will have a lot to ponder in the next 24 hours.  1. To call Steph Curry ridiculous would be an understatement. He is the best shooter we’ve seen since Larry Bird and when it’s all said and done, he could be better than Bird. 2. The Celtics win over the Heat was huge yesterday because that’s the team the Celtics have to ward off if they want to…
