Patriots Pulse Preview: New York Giants (1-2) at New England Patriots (1-2)

By John Sarianides

The Patriots host the Giants in the final pre-season game of the season. The Patriots beat the Lions 30-28 on a last second field goal by Stephen Gostkowski. The Giants beat the Jets 32-31 last week for their first pre-season win of the season.

Here are three things we are watching for tonight.

1. Who Are the Bubble Guys? Tonight is about the guys on the bottom third of the roster. The coaching staff will use this game to evaluate those guys and figure who is on the bubble and who should be cut.

2. Brissett’s Super Bowl: Jacoby Brissett is starting tonight and this is in essence his super bowl. Brissett’s name has been bandied about as a possible cut. Brissett needs to play well and prove to Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels that he is worth keeping as the third quarterback .

3. Find the Diamond: The Patriots coaches have been evaluating this roster all summer long. Tonight is their last chance to find that one diamond in the rough that may not have stuck out thus far.

Final Thoughts: Tonight is all about evaluating the roster and figuring out who stays and who goes. Outside of that, this game is meaningless.
