I had a chance to chat with former Londonderry standout and Phillips Exeter Academy EDGE Devin Boles recently.
We talked about Devin’s off-season thus far, his recruitment and what he is looking for in a school. Some good stuff here.
NEFJ: How has the off-season gone for you so far? What have you done in regards to getting yourself ready for the upcoming season?
DB: “Great, I have been lifting weights with in Manchester, New Hampshire as well as getting field work done with coaches from Massachusetts.”
NEFJ: How has the recruiting process been. How much communication have you had with coaches? Any specific schools that you have spoken with you or offered you lately?
DB: “Solid, I have spoken with Ivy League schools like Dartmouth College and Brown University, but I have also remained in contact with UNH, Georgetown, Bentley, and Lehigh – all of whom have given me an offer.”
NEFJ: Have you had the opportunity to show what you can do at any showcases or combines this off-season?
DB: “Yes, I attended the BC Mega Camp, Best Of New England Camp in Springfield Massachusetts, and went to Holy Cross as well as Dartmouth for individuals workouts/camps.”
NEFJ: What is your summer looking like in terms of camps and preparing for the upcoming season?
DB: “I live close to Phillips Exeter Academy, so I meet often with the coaches to be prepared physically and mentally. I have mixed in field work and weight lifting into my preparation for the upcoming season.”
NEFJ: When do you anticipate making a decision regarding what school you will be attending in the Fall of 2026?
DB: “Between August and November.”
NEFJ: What are looking for in a school ultimately? From a football and academic perspective.
DB: “A place where I feel is an investment for myself as a student, football player, and most importantly, a person.”
NEFJ: How do you plan to unwind the rest of this off-season before the regular season grind begins?
DB: “I will continue to condition myself, train safely, and retain as much information as I can from my coaches.”
