The Patriots acquired cornerback Eric Rowe from the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday for a fourth round pick in next year’s draft. So what are the Patriots getting in Rowe?
They are getting a long corner (6-1 205) who can play cornerback or free safety. Rowe is built like Devin McCourty. He’s athletic and smooth in coverage but he has struggled with consistency thus far. He gives up a lot of big plays, especially in man coverage.
With the Patriots, Rowe will likely be a sub package corner and a special teamer. He has intriguing size and speed. Bill Belichick and company should be able to get something out of him.
