Maine 35, Villanova 7 – Defense paves the way for Black Bears upset

ORONO- Maine has been knocking on the door of a big time upset this season but we were not sure when Jordan Stevens Black Bears were going to do it. Well, today was the day as Maine beat Villanova handily at home, 35-7.

The win marked Maine’s highest ranked opponent it has defeated since a 2018 FCS quarterfinal victory over No. 3 Weber State. Maine has now won eight-straight on Homecoming weekend in Orono.

Princeton 29, Brown 17: Bears lose third straight after slow start

Another slow start proved to be too much for the Brown Bears to overcome in a 29-17 loss to the Princeton Tigers on Friday night.

Princeton running back John Volker scored two rushing touchdowns in the first-quarter. Volker scored from 66 and 7 yards out as Princeton (2-3) led 12-0 after the Tigers missed a point-after kick and a two-point conversion.
