Pats’ QB plan becomes clearer with signing of old friend Jacoby Brissett

There’s now like a 99.99% chance the Patriots are taking a quarterback with the No. 3 pick in the draft. That became clearer on Monday night as the offense revamp continued with the singing of former Patriot Jacoby Brisket. Tom Pelissero reported that it’s a one-year, $8 million deal. The Patriots will add at least another one but more than likely two more quarterbacks in the coming days and weeks. One of those quarterbacks will be a veteran free agent. That will be the focus of this piece. We will talk about about what they will do…

Patriots Free Agency: Need No. 2: Offensive Line

The Patriots offensive line has struggled mightily the past three seasons. Bill Belichick tried to fix the unit in last year’s draft by drafting three interior lineman in Sidy Sow, Jake Andrews and Atonio Mafi. All three played but struggled at times and looked rushed. Offensive tackles Trent Brown and Michael Onwenu manned the tackle spots. Brown had a tough season between injuries and not getting a contract extension offer…

Mac Jones was set up to fail with the Patriots

AP Photo/Michael Dwyer) The Patriots are trading quarterback Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a sixth round pick in next month’s draft. The Patriots drafted Jones with the 15th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. At the time, I said that I liked the pick but Jones success hinged on the Patriots surrounding him with a talented supporting cast. They did not and Jones…
