Opinion: I Really Don’t Care What Victor Cruz Thinks

Victor Cruz said earlier this week that the Patriots don’t want to see the Giants in the Super Bowl again.

Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz said earlier this week that the Patriots don’t want to see the Giants in the Super Bowl again.

That is an awfully ambitious statement considering the Giants are a wild card team and have a longer road to the Super Bowl than the Patriots do.

I am not quite sure why Cruz is even talking to begin with? He hasn’t done anything from a production standpoint in three years. He is a non factor in the Giants offense. Even if the Patriots were to play the Giants in the Super Bowl, I doubt Bill Belichick and Matt Patricia would be losing sleep over how to defend Cruz.

Don’t get me wrong. The Giants are good. They have beaten the Dallas Cowboys twice this season and they are the one team in the NFC that can knock off the top seeded Cowboys in the playoffs. It would not be a surprise to see them in the Super Bowl.

That being said, I don’t think the Patriots care who they face in the Super Bowl if they get there. I’m sure deep down inside, Tom Brady would love to avenge his two Super Bowl lossses to the Giants but I don’t think he or the Patriots care who they play as long as they are playing for a championship.

I can’t say I’m surprised that Cruz flapped his lips. He plays for the Giants. Both the team and their fans talk way too much. That’s why I take what he said with a grain of salt.

The Patriots are a legit Super Bowl contender. The Giants are not. When the Giants become one, maybe then I’ll pay attention to them and take them serious.

Until then, I don’t want to hear from them. I don’t care what they think and I certainly don’t care what Victor Cruz thinks.
