Jenrry Meija might just be the biggest idiot of all time. The Mets reliever was banned for life after testing positive for a banned substance three times in the same calendar year. What is wrong with this guy? How do you get caught three times in the same year? I don’t get it?

The bigger question is, why wasn’t there anyone in this young man’s life to guide him? I can’t believe a coach, teammate or family member didn’t sit him down and try to set him straight. In a way, the Mets and his family let Meija down. 

Meija will be eligible to apply for reinstatement next year and he could potentially pitch again in three years. Meija is a power pitcher. There is a good chance his velocity will be way down by then. Which means he probably won’t ever pitch in the big leagues again. If he doesn’t, it’s his fault. He’s an idiot.
