Boston College picked up a big commitment last night from Brunswick School (CT) interior offensive lineman Jadon LaFontant who decommitted from Kentucky and committed to Boston College. LaFontant announced his commitment last night on his social media pages.
LaFontant committed to Kentucky in June and held offers from Syracuse, Pitt, Illinois, Duke, Charlotte and Vanderbilt. He also held several FCS offers as well.
At 6-3 285, LaFontant profiles as a guard but has played all across the offensive line for Brunswick. Listed as a three-star recruit, LaFontant is the third offensive lineman that the Eagles have secured a commitment from ahead of next week’s early signing date.
LaFontant was part of a talented offensive line at Brunswick that also featured highly recruited 2025 prospect Matty Augustine. Augustine currently holds 29 offers, including an offer from the Eagles. The two led an offensive line that was one of the best in NEPSAC football this season.LaFontant hails from Greenwich, Connecticut so the opportunity to play closer to home appealed to him.
It is too early to say how many more Class of 24 recruits the Eagles will be adding in the next week. Boston College currently has eight incoming freshmen and with the exception of maybe another one or two, I would expect them to go heavy in the portal in the coming weeks.
Flipping LaFontant is huge for the Eagles. The 2024 class is small so to add a quality interior offensive lineman with his upside and a New England kid to boot is big for Hafley and the staff.
