October wrapped up with a bang as not only did the majority of our New England D1 teams get wins this weekend, but there were some huge performances.
Check out the Week 9 Dudes of the Week:
Dartmouth upset Harvard on Friday night thanks to a ridiculous five-interception performance from the defense. Cameron Best-Alston had two of them. Matthew Boydell, No’Koi Maddox and Sean Chester added the others. Offensively, QB Grayson Saunier had two passing touchdowns along with 109 yards rushing on 20 carries and a touchdown. DUDES!
In that same game, Harvard did get a historic performance out of defensive back Xaden Benson, who had three interceptions, setting the Harvard record for picks in a season with nine. Ryan Tattersall also had six catches for 94 yards and a touchdown. DUDES!
Matt Childs had 75 yards rushing (21 carries) with a touchdown to help lead Brown to its second straight victory, 36-17 over Penn. DUDE!
The suddenly surging Holy Cross crusaders beat No. 19 Richmond behind another big performance out of running back Joseph Williams. Williams had 206 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries in the win. Datrell Jones added 14 for 79 yards. Jake Croce had just 26 yards on four carries, but scored twice. The Crusaders ran for 323 yards as a team on 43 attempts. DUDES!
It wasn’t pretty, but URI squeaked out a one-point OT win vs. Maine thanks largely to two guys: Brayden Richardson and Marquis Buchanan. Richardson finished with 92 yards rushing on 19 carries, while Buchanan had 107 yards receiving and a touchdown on nine catches. DUDES!
CCSU won its firth straight game and remained unbeaten in the NEC. QB Brett Griffis was 10-13 for 120 yards and a touchdown along with 117 yards rushing (10 carries) and two touchdowns. Davon Smith Jr. added 15 carries for 96 yards and two scores. CCSU ran for 341 yards as a team. DUDES!
