College Football: Week 8 Picks Vs. The Spread

Michigan, Michigan State is the top match up of the weekend.

There are some quality money making match ups this weekend. Here are my top games and picks for week 8 of the college football season.

Auburn at Ole Miss (+3.5, 63.5): Both programs have fallen off since the start of the season. Auburn is a mess right now. They cannot run the ball and their defense is struggling. I’m taking the Rebels at home in what is a must win for both programs.

Michigan (+7, 41) at Michigan State: I am on the Michigan bandwagon big time! I think the Wolverines are legit in all three phases. It’s tough to win in East Lansing but they will get it done. Sparty will be fired up but I am taking the Fighting Harbaugh’s by a touchdown in what should be a great game.

Illinois at Wisconsin (-24.5, 57): Illinois is a bad program right now and the perfect elixir for what ails the Badgers.

Oklahoma (-8, 61.5) at TCU: No trap game here. The Sooners have had two weeks to prepare for this game and the Horned Frogs are not very good, particularly on offense. Boomer Sooner should roll on the road. They are a solid pick.

Colorado (-17.5, 50) at Washington: Sometimes I wonder if Vegas watches college football. This spread is ridiculous. Colorado is 6-1! So what if they lost last week! So did Washington. Give me the Buffs as a prohibitive road dog to cover.

Penn State at Indiana (+14.5, 61): I think Penn State is reeling a little right now after two loses which makes taking the Hoosiers at home as a big dog sensible.

NC State (+17.5, 58) at Clemson: Another ridiculous number! I know this game is in Death Valley but does Vegas know know that the Pack have an experienced quarterback in Ryan Findlay and play good defense? I think Clemson finds a way to win this game but it will be a battle from start to finish. Clemson wins by three but the Pack cover.

Memphis at Missouri (-9.5, 73): Shootout Alert! This should be a high affair and if that is the case, then the smart money is on Drew Lock and the Tigers at home.

UCF at East Carolina (+21.5, 64.5): UCF should have lost to Memphis last week but they survived 31-30. Mackenzie Milton and company bounce back in a big way and cover against an improved East Carolina team.

Connecticut at South Florida (-34, 69): UConn is flat out awful. The Bulls have quietly put together a nice season in Tampa and they will continue to roll with a big home win today.

Mississippi State at LSU (-6.5, 45.5): Don’t expect a Tigers let down in this one. Coach O’s boys are feeling it right now and they know that everything they want to accomplish is in front of them. This will be a tight game but LSU wins by a touchdown and covers.

Vanderbilt (+12.5, 46.5) at Kentucky: Vandy is better than you think. They hung with Notre Dame in South Bend and Florida last week at home. They will play Kentucky tough. Put the money on the Commodores in this one as a road dog.

Ohio State at Purdue (+12.5, 68.5): I am cautiously taking the Buckeyes in what could be a shootout in West Lafayette. Purdue has played well the past three weeks so this could end up a close game.

Oregon (+3, 68) at Washington State The Ducks are back baby! Last week’s win at home over Washington will propel Oregon to a strong finish and a Rose Bowl birth. It won’t be easy in Pullman against Mike Leach’s Cougars but the Ducks will get it done.

USC at Utah (-7, 48): Give me the Utes in this one. USC has struggled away from the Coliseum this season, especially freshmen quarterback J.T Daniels. Utah wins by two scores and covers.
