The Whitman-Hanson Regional High School Athletic Department has officially announced that Zack Botelho is stepping down from his position as head football coach. After five years at the helm of the program, Botelho has decided to step away from the role for personal reasons.
John Mihalko has announced he is stepping down as the head coach at Ansonia High School after one season.
The Ansonia Football Facebook and X accounts put out a statement from Mihalko on Wednesday. Mihalko cites the demands of the position as the primary reason he chose to step away.
A familiar name will be patrolling the sidelines of Fitch High School this fall. Jordan Panucci has been named the new head football coach of the Falcons.
Panucci has spent the past 18 years in the program, including a two year stint as head coach from 2014-15. He was relived of his duties after the 2014 season and was replaced by Mike Ellis Jr. Pannucci served as defensive coordinator and assistant head coach under Ellis who coached the program for 10 years. Now Pannucci gets another shot at leading the program.

The Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association announced their Divisional All-State Teams for 2025.
The players were selected after a rigorous process which included nominations from MHSFCA member coaches and statistical and film review. In addition, this year the MHSFCA added a specialist position to recognize kickers, punters and returners.
