New England high school preview — Week 6
A ton of quality matchups this week as we get, for the most part, deep into league play. Here are the ones we have our eyes on for now. Methuen at Billerica — These might be the two best teams in the Merrimack Valley Conference, or at least close to it. Methuen’s offense seems to have hit its stride. Billerica is coming off a nice win over Tewksbury. This is a fun one…….
A peek at the power rankings
Let’s take a quick look around the power rankings, which have been updated through this past weekend’s games. Division 1 What really sticks out is Everett at 4-1 standing at No. 16. The Crimson Tide scheduled two Catholic Conference teams. They lost to Xaverian, 32-21, and beat BC High, 35-34. You would think that would buy Everett some better standing in the rankings, but the Crimson Tide find themselves squarely……

Five underrated high school results from Week 5
Once again, there were some results from over this weekend that we didn’t preview, but still deserve special mention. One of the top programs on the South Coast, the Blue Devils……
Q&A with Hanover coach Brian Kelliher
The story on the South Shore this season has been the play of the Hanover Hawks. They started the season with a massive, 28-18 win over Duxbury. Now at 5-0, Hanover is rolling and looking like a state title contender in D5. We called Hanover coach Brian Kelliher to talk about Hanover, the unique coaching situation, and some of the Hawks’ top players. This is an edited version of that……
Week 3 Chaos Poll

Week 5 MIAA Top 25
What a week, as Catholic Memorial’s 41-38 win over Xaverian Friday night highlighted the top games of the weekend. With that, CM remains our top team, but we expect more photo finishes over the final half of the season. Some more big showdowns coming, as we are sure to see some more movement. On to the rankings. Week 5 MIAA Top 25 Catholic Memorial (3-1) — That finish won’t be……
