On the day Boston College picked one commitment from one local recruit, they lost another one. Catholic Memorial 2028 athlete/quarterback Ramar Thomas announced that he is decommitting from Boston College.
Thomas announced his decision on X.
Brockton High School has hired Mike Norman Jr. as the program’s new head football coach. Norman was on staff as the freshmen coach and graduated from Brockton High School in 2019. He played defensive back at Stonehill College.
When we spoke with Norman, he told us he is excited about the opportunity to lead his alma mater.

Former Xaverian standout and current Avon Old Farms wide receiver Christian McIntyre announced on Friday evening that he is committing to the University of Ohio. We spoke with Christian on why Ohio was the right school for him.
NEFJ: Why did you commit to Ohio? What made the school and program appealing to you? CM: “Ohio is a gritty program that wins big football games and doesn’t lose at home. I want to play for a winning program that’s going to develop me. Coach Hauser and all of the Coaches showed me everything I needed to see on my official visit and the decision was a no brainer. The players and people care about winning. The support from the school to the football team is also amazing.
Boston College Football’s recruiting surge this summer continued this week with another handful of commitments.
The Eagles staff placed a heavy premium on boosting line depth, keeping local talent home, and expanding their geographic footprint with key defensive and offensive playmakers.
The New London Whalers are turning to a familiar legend to revitalize their football program, officially announcing the return of former head coach and distinguished alumnus Jack Cochran.
Big changes came to the King Philip Football program this spring as long time head coach Brian Lee stepped down after 21 seasons. Lee won four super bowls and took the Warriors to eight title games in nine seasons. Replacing him is offensive coordinator Anthony Vizakis who is no stranger to being a head coach. Vizakis was the head coach at Milford High School previously. He inherits a team that graduated one of the most decorated senior classes in program history. The Warriors do however return several key contributors from last season so they should once again be in the mix.
The Xaverian Hawks are looking to make history in 2026. Al Fornaro’s squad is looking to accomplish a four-peat, something that has never been done in Massachusetts High School Football history. It will not be easy with several key contributors graduated, but Xaverian returns Penn State commit Will Wood at quarterback and a slew of other talented seniors and underclassman.

We got an opportunity to catch up with Pingree quarterback Jack Soear during what has been a busy off-season for him. Jack recently compete in the M2 Quarterback Showdown and he has attended camps as well.

NEFJ: How has the off-season gone for you so far? What have you done in regards to getting yourself ready for the upcoming season?
JS: ” My offseason has been super productive! I have been lifting on my own until summer lifts start and I have been building great relationships and synergy with my WRs by throwing with them throughout the whole season! Recently we have had captains practices that are just walk throughs to build a solid foundation for the young kids and continue to connect with my guys.”
