Renegades continue to roll, win home opener by 50

Another night, another blowout for the Boston Renegades.

Boston won its 42nd consecutive game this past Saturday, rolling over the Alabama Fire 56-6 in the home opener at Harry Della Russo Stadium in Revere.

The Renegades (2-0) may look much different on the field, but the product is seemingly still an unstoppable freight train.

The new QB duo of Megan McFadden and Jackie Lane combined for 133 yards with Lane throwing two touchdown passes. Adrienne Smith and Steph Pascual hauled in the two TD passes. K Dummott led the way with 69 yards on five catches. Meanwhile, Spring Gamble ran the ball 13 times for 54 yards and three touchdowns while Katie Falkowski carried it 10 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Latoya Saulters added a rushing TD of her own on six carries for 52 yards. As a team, the Renegades had 317 total yards of offense and 18 first downs, including a 4-8 clip on third down.

Defensively,. the Renegades held Alabama to just 169 yards of offense and recovered two fumbles. Pascual had seven tackles and Kara Galliunas racked up six of her own (two solo). Danielle Fouriner had a sack. 19 players total recorded at least one tackle in another true team effort.

The Renegades are now off until May 18th when they take on St. Louis on the road. Boston is on the road June 1st as well against New York before finally returning home to host Pittsburgh (June 8th) and Washington D.C. (June 15th).

“I think we got sloppy at the end,” Pascual said after the Renegades gave up a late score during the blowout. “It’s hard to tell at someone and say, ‘do better’ when you’re up 56-6, but we have a standard to uphold. We want to always uphold our standard because those details matter.

“We have St. Louis in a couple weeks. We know they’re a good team.”
