Clearwater Academy tight end and Canadian native Ludovuc Martin has committed to UMass. Martin picked the Minutemen over Maryland, Tulane, Brown, URI, UNH and Charlotte among others.

The 6-4 230 pound tight end profiles more as a detach, move U tight end. He can create match ups in the passing game and has a wide catch radius. Martin does a good job of creating separation vertically and tracking the ball. He is your quintessential 12 personnel tight end.

Martin is the latest tight end to commit this off-season. The Minutemen have emphasized the position as they look to play a more physical brand of football.

Martin is the third 2024 recruit to commit to the program joining offensive lineman Tanner Burlingame and quarterback A.J Hairston. He is the second Florida prospect to commit along with Hairston.

The Sunshine State has been good to Don Brown and his staff recently and Martin’s commitment is proof of that. The UMass staff has strong in-roads in the state and they invest time in it.

You can see Brown’s recruiting plan starting to unfold. The 2024 class is shaping up to be more of a high school player driven class than the 2022 and 2023 classes.
