UConn hires Brad Robbins as quarterback coach

Jim Mora has hired Brad Robbins as the Huskies new quarterbacks coach. Robbins replaces former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Nick Charlton who left for the Cleveland Browns earlier this month.

Robbins was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Southern Utah previously. He has also coached at Tennessee Tech and VMI among his previous stops.

He inherits a good quarterback room which features Joe Fagnano, Ta’Quan Roberson, Tucker McDonald and incoming freshmen Cole Welliver.

Robbins has a strong passing game background which should blend well with new offensive coordinator Gordie Sammis and his run game expertise. The Huskies struggled throwing the ball last season and will look to improve in that area this spring.

UConn has already opened up spring ball so Robbins is joining the staff right in the thick of it.

We will get our first look at Coach Robbins on Saturday when we visit the Huskies as part of our spring visit.
