UConn continued to dominate the portal on Tuesday night, adding former Penn State safety Tyrece Mills according to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports.

Mills has played three seasons with the Nittany Lions after transferring to Happy Valley from Lackawanna College.

Mills played in three safety and big packages for Penn State this past season. He recorded a career-high five tackles against Minnesota and he had his first career interception against Boise State in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal round.

The 6’1 209 pound safety had an offer from Akron coming out of high school and chose the junior college route before picking up a Penn State offer. He has one year of eligibility left.

Mills was ranked as a three-star transfer and the No. 170 safety in the portal. He joins a Huskies program that needs to replenish the secondary, specifically at safety. He will get an opportunity to play a lot more than he did at Penn State and could potentially start.

The Philadelphia product played 18 games and totaled 17 tackles in his Penn State career.
