Wallace started 13 games in 2023 and was an All Big-Ten Honorable Mention. In his career at Happy Valley, he started 40 out of 47 games he played in.
Here is my scouting report on Caeden Wallace.
Caedan Wallace, OT, 6-4 315, Penn St.
Initial Quickness: Wallace gets out of his stance quickly and gets inside hand placement on defenders. Resets the line of scrimmage and wins at the point of attack consistently.
Run Block: Gets consistent movement and does a good job of staying low and rolling his hips through contact. Plays with good power and bend and gets displacement on drive and reach blocks. Demonstrates good power on double teams. Wallace does have a tendency to fall of blocks at times.
Pass Block: Wallace does a good job of punching and recoiling in pass pro. Moves well laterally and can cut the edge off of a speed rusher but lacks the elite level lateral quickness to consistently win on the outside.
Pull & Trap: Good athlete who moves well enough laterally that he can be an effective puller on counter and trap plays. He did not do it enough in college however.
Use of Hands: Wallace displays good hand strength. He can shock and reset defenders both as a run and pass blocker.
Strength: Plays with good strength and leverage. Wallace has shown he can move the pile, especially in the run game. Lacks elite level strength however and will struggle versus longer defenders.
Explosion: Plays with good explosion and pop. Plays with a low pad level and can finish blocks with good bend and pad alignment. Blocks through the whistle.
Final Report: Wallace needs some fundamental work but if he gets stronger, he can start at either or right tackle or guard. Lacks the length and elite lateral quickness to be a left tackle. He has met with the Patriots this off-season.
Draft Range: 4th-5th Round
