Tom Brady was voted as the second best player in 2015 as part of the NFL Network’s Top 100. Players around the league were polled and asked to list their top 100 players. Brady finished behind Cam Newton.

Many Patriots fans I spoke to were not happy that Brady wasn’t voted the best player in the league for the 2015 season. Some of the fans I spoke with felt Brady was the best player in league last season despite playing behind a porous offensive line and playing without Julian Edelman for a portion of the season. 

While I can see the argument, I don’t buy it. Cam Newton had a season for the ages. He was the best player in the league last season and he deserved to be named MVP. Simply put, Newton was better than Brady. I know it’s a heretic thing to say around here but it’s true.

Look, I know Patriots fans love TB12 but sometimes they need to take off the rose colored glasses. It’s ok to admit that Brady wasn’t the best player in the league last season. 

Boston sports fans are loyal but loyalty shouldn’t blind reality. The players got it right. Cam Newton was the best player in the NFL last season.
