The Patriots sign first round pick Caleb Lomu

The Patriots officially signed their 2026 first-round draft pick, offensive tackle Caleb Lomu today.

While the financial terms of the rookie deal were not publicly announced, the signing comes on the eve of mandatory mini-camp.

Lomu, a 21-year-old standout from the University of Utah, arrives in Foxborough with experience and potential.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 313 pounds, Lomu possesses the prototypical frame and athleticism required to handle the league’s explosive edge rushers.

His collegiate track record suggests he is well-equipped for the transition to the NFL. Lomu appeared in 27 games throughout his tenure with the Utes, anchored the offensive line with 24 starts at left tackle, and established himself as a model of consistency. He was particularly dominant during his final season in Salt Lake City, starting all 12 games on the blindside and earning an All-Big 12 First Team selection. With his contract now finalized, the focus shifts to the practice field, where the rookie will look to translate his collegiate success into a foundational role on the Patriots’ offensive line.
