Patriots Draft: Wide Receiver Scouting Reports

April 22, 2020

On paper, the Patriots don’t have a glaring need at wide receiver. That is why I am not listing the top in this class in my scouting reports because unless one falls at 23 and is too good a value to pass up, they are not going to take one early. Day two and three however are a different story. Here are my scouting reports for the ten receivers I……

Patriots: Patriots trade Rob Gronkowski and a seventh round pick to the Buccaneers for a 4th round pick

April 21, 2020

In a completely unexpected trade this afternoon, former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski ended his retirement and was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to reunite with Tom Brady. Bill Belichick sent Gronkowski and a seventh round pick to Tampa Bay for a fourth round pick. Pick #117 to be exact. The deal was surprising, especially when you consider that Gronkowski was pretty adamant last spring that he was done….

Patriots Draft: Belichick’s first round success in the draft is a big reason for the Patriots sustained success

April 20, 2020

Bill Belichick has virtually hit on every first round pick in his 20 year tenure in New England. Dominique Easley aside, Belichick has owned the first round of the NFL Draft. Which is why Patriots fans get so aggravated when he trades out of the first round. The Patriots have the 23rd pick in this year’s draft and have multiple needs. Belichick has never drafted for need per say. That……

Patriots Draft: Quarterback Scouting Reports

April 19, 2020

The Patriots have turned the page on the Tom Brady era after 20 seasons. It is hard to believe that another quarterback will be the face of the organization moving forward but that is the reality of professional sports today. The Patriots have the 23rd pick in the first round so it is highly unlikely that anyone of the top four quarterbacks in the class will be available to them…….

Patriots: NFL players go back to school with virtual OTA’s

April 14, 2020

By Kevin Stone/@kstone06/@newftbj Back to school for NFL players? Sort of.  Breakfast at eight, home gym lift session at nine, film at 11, position meetings at noon, pet yoga at two, put the kid down for a nap, lunch, more film, call it a day. It’s a rough outline, but thanks to the new agreement between the NFL and NFLPA, there will be involuntary virtual workouts replacing OTA’s between April…

Outside linebacker is the second most pressing need for the Patriots after Elandon Roberts, Jaime Collins and Kyle Van Boy all left this off season in free agency. Defensive linchpin Dont’a Hightower is back and will man his usual weak side linebacker spot. 2018 draft pick J’Whaun Bentley will slide into the starting MIKE or middle linebacker spot and replace Roberts. The Patriots however still need to replace Collins and……

Patriots Draft: Wide receiver may not be a need for the Patriots after all

April 12, 2020

By Kevin J. Stone/@kstone06/@newftbj The 2020 NFL Draft is quickly approaching, and while everyone and their grandmother has an opinion on which route the Pats should go with their picks, whether it be defensive tackle, linebacker, quarterback or tight end, there’s one thing that Bill shouldn’t do, and that’s take a wide receiver. After the debacle that was the 2019 season, and even during it, people were down on this……
