FAIRHAVEN, Mass. – Fairhaven High School head football coach, Derek Almeida, has been selected as the 2025 New England Patriots Coach of the Year. The award honors the region’s best high school coach. Almeida led Fairhaven to a 12-1 season and their second MIAA Division VI State Championship in three years.
Although we did a Q&A earlier this season with Derek Almeida, we wanted to follow up with the Fairhaven coach. The Blue Devils went 12-1 this season, and beat Salem in the D6 state title game at Gillette Stadium. We caught up with Almeida for a phone interview this week.
