MARION- Tabor Academy Head Coach Jeff Moore has the reputation of developing talent and getting guys ready to play at the next level. After one year at Tabor Academy, you can see that Moore is already building a powerhouse.
Moore has assembled a talented roster and that is why there were over 100 FBS, FCS, Division Two and Three coaches on hand to see several talented players workout.
Here are some players who stood out.
Will Smith, OL, 6’4.5 290 (2025)
Smith moved well in drills and showed coaches that he is athletic enough to play guard or center. The versatility is a key factor in his recruitment. Coaches like the fact that he can play multiple positions. One of the best offensive line prospects in the region.
Botond Varga, OL, 6’7 305 (2027)
Varga looks the part and his best football is ahead of him. He moves well in all four directions and he looked smooth and fluid in his pass sets today. He still has three years of high school left so he has plenty of time to develop into a quality Power 4 prospect.
Kaiden Drinkwater, WR, 6’1.5 185 (2027)
Drinkwater had a big year last season for the Seawolves and is poised for yet another productive campaign. I thought he ran good routes, looked clean in and out of breaks and displayed consistent hands. Drinkwater can play the X or the Z. He still has another three years to develop.
Carter Gooden, DL, 6-5 250 (2026)
Gooden was a little high in the bag drills but overall he moved well and has length to him. Gooden is an intriguing prospect because he looks like he can play end but has the body type to kick inside and play some defensive tackle in sub packages as well.
Dameer Phifer, WR, 5’10.5 170 (2025)
Phifer can fly. Twitchy and athletic, he looks like the ideal Z or F receiver who can play in the slot and possibly return kicks as well.
Peter Bourque, QB, 6’3.5 185 (2027)
Bourque has requisite size and he moves well in the pocket and out of the pocket. He has a good arm talent and can make throws in all three levels. Bourque needs to work on his timing and anticipation but that will come. He is just now getting to know his receiver and working on their timing.
Hugo Djeunemi, RB, 5’11.5 205 (2025)
Djeunemi had a monster season in 2023 and he is looking to put up even bigger numbers this season. He certainly looks like the part and he has good footwork for a back his size. He did a good running routes as well and showed some versatility as a pass catcher.
