The annual Jay McGillis Memorial Maroon and Gold Game was played at today the Heights. It was the final practice of the first spring for new head coach Bill O’Brien. O’Brien was mum during the week about whether or not they would keep score. As it tuns out, there was scoring and the offense won 96-62. It was a productive work day with plenty of takeaways. 1. Fenway Bowl win a win all around for the Eagles moving forward

Image courtesy of Boston College Athletics. BOSTON — The Boston College Eagles came into today’s Fenway Bowl as 10-point underdogs to Southern Methodist. They were not supposed to win. Thanks to a punishing running game and a stout defensive effort, the Eagles beat SMU, 23-14, in the second annual Fenway Bowl. Boston College gets a big play pick up in Vanderbilt WR Jayden McGowan

Last season Boston College added Ryan O’Keefe from Central Florida in the portal to replace Zay Flowers big plays. Unfortunately, O’Keefe had to retire from football due to an injury suffered against Virginia.  Jeff Hafley and his staff have gone back into the portal to add another big play receiver.
