Ansonia promotes assistant coach John Mihalko to replace Tom Brockett as next football coach

It did not take long for Ansonia to find the program’s next football coach. Two weeks after legendary coach Tom Brockett stepped away, Ansonia hired a familiar face to replace in assistant coach John Mihalko. A native of Shelton, Connecticut and a graduate of Trinity College, Mihalko, 39, is a currently a history teacher at Ansonia and has served as the program’s offensive line coach for the past 11 seasons…….

Ansonia coach Tom Brockett retires after a legendary run with the Chargers

WTNH-Sports video photo One of the best high school football coach’s in Connecticut High School the past 20 years announced he is retiring on Thursday. Tom Brockett called it a career after 19 seasons as head coach of the Chargers.  Brockett’s run at Ansonia was impressive. He won 215 games, lost just 18 games, won 8 state titles including the 2024 Class S title and he had 7 undefeated seasons…….
