Recruiting: Ronan Hanafin commits to Clemson

BB&N four star wide receiver and defensive back Ronan Hanafin has committed to Clemson. Hanafin made the announcement yesterday evening at 5:30 pm.

Hanifan picked Clemson over Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Penn State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, UConn and B.C. He had 26 total offers.

Hanifan really connected with the staff at Clemson specifically offensive coordinator Brandon Streeter and wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham. Hanifan will play wide receiver for the Tigers.

Hanifan burst on the scene in the summer of 2020 and gradually became one of the most heavily recruited receivers in the Class of 2023 and one of the top recruits in New England.

Hanifan was clocked at a sub-4.5 40-yard speed last offseason. He can play on the outside or in the slot. He has good size at 6-3 210 and coupled with his speed, can create match up problems for defenses. He has terrific short area quickness and once in the open field, he can separate and finish.

Kudos to Swinney and his staff for getting this commitment. Many thought Notre Dame had the inside track. Especially because the Irish have a commitment from Hanifan’s former teammate Preston Zinter.

Hanifan joins Noble Johnson as the second receiver in the Class of 2023 to commit to Clemson.
