Previewing the Northeast 7-on-7 North Regional

The Northeast 7 on 7 rolls onto Marshwood High School in Maine on Sunday. Here is a preview of each pool.

Pool 1

St. Mary’s of Lynn is a program to watch in this pool as is Marshwood. Former Longmeadow coach Alex Rotsko has done a tremendous job with the Marshwood program and they are one of the better programs in the state in his tenure. Tewksbury is also in this pool. Brian Alyward’s squad should once again be a factor in D4 and they will once again contend. Curious to see the Tewksbury, Marshwood match-up in Game 3. York and Timberlake are also in this highly competitive pool.

Pool 2

Bonny Eagle and Andover are the two programs in watch in this pool. They face off in Game 3. The two schools will be the favorites in this group. Don’t sleep in Exeter, N.H either. Coming off a 7-4 season, the Blue Hawks have the skill to be competitive in this bracket.

Pool 3

Thornton Academy and Chelmsford are the two programs to watch in this group. The Spartans are a Class A title contender each and every year. Chelmsford went through a tough season in 2023 and is looking to bounce back. Both schools will be favored in this bracket. They meet in Game 3 at 11:00 am. Defending Class D champion Wells is in this pool as well. The Warriors return a good group and will be a factor in this group.

Pool 4

Bishop Guertin and Milton are the two teams to watch in this pool. Anthony Nalen’s Cardinals came on at the end of last season and are looking to build momentum heading into this season. Steve Dembowski’s Wildcats are poised to make another state title run in D3 in Massachusetts. The two schools meet in Game 3 at 11 am. Defending New Hampshire D3 champion Trinity could spoil the party in this pool. They have the skill to do it.
