The Patriots signed tight end Pharaoh Brown today. The 29 year old Brown was signed to the Patriots practice squad on Aug. 30. He has spent time with the Oakland Raiders (2017), Cleveland Browns (2018-19, 2022), Houston Texans (2020-22) and Indianapolis Colts (2023).
The 6-5 246 pound Brown played for Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien in Houston in 2020 so he is familiar with O’Brien and the system.
The team also signed defensive tackle Jeremiah Pharms to the practice squad. Pharms was released by the Patriots on August 29th. Pharms has experience with the Patriots. He spent time on the active roster last season.
Perhaps the biggest news of the day is that Riley Reiff was placed on injured reserve. Reiff will miss the first four games of the season.
Reiff was signed as a free agent on March 20th. The veteran offensive lineman had his right leg/knee rolled up on in the team’s preseason finale Aug. 25 against the Titans. He has not practiced since and was subsequently placed on I.R today.
