Patriots Pulse Training Camp Review: Day 8

Day 8 was a walkthrough day so there isn’t much to talk about. We are going to keep it short and sweet.

1. Hollins is back: Veteran wide receiver and Tik Tok star Mack Hollins returned for the walkthrough today and repped with the one’s and the twos. Hollins missed June’s minicamp and missed the first seven practices of training camp, but it looks like he is off the PUP list and back. His return adds another layer of intrigue to the receiver competition.

4. Trickery on O: The offense ran a couple of gadget plays today. Not going to specify what they were but it is nice to the variety that we have seen so far on offense. From formation variety, quarterback runs, RPO’s and gadgets. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is emptying the playbook early.

5. Versatility on D is the key: The versatility of the Patriots defense is evident on walkthrough days. Multiple players on all three levels offer alignment versatility. That versatility will be a big part of what the team does schematically. You will see a lot of movement at all three levels. Disguises, bluffs and sim pressure will be a big part of what this defense
