Game Rewind: After a slow start, the Patriots were able to pull away in the fourth quarter and blow out the Bills in what was a closer game than the score would indicate.
Here are five thoughts on the game and more.
1. Bills Came to Play: Say what you will about the Bills, but they came to play. Buffalo went toe to toe with the Patriots for three quarters. If Buffalo has a good off-season, they can close the gap between them and the Patriots. Of course we said that about the Dolphins last off-season and look how that turned out.
2. Brady Throws Another Interception: Tom Brady threw an interception for the fifth straight game. Is that a cause for concern? YES! Not because he’s Tom Brady, but because he is your starting quarterback. Brady finished the day 21/28 for 224 yards and 2 touchdown passes but he needs to start taking better care of the football.
3. Dion the Diamond Has a Monster Day: Dion Lewis once again stole the show for the Patriots scoring three total touchdowns while racking up 153 yards of total offense (129 rushing, 24 receiving). Lewis has been terrific this season. It is hard to believe considering the fact that he deemed the odd man out at the beginning of the season.
4. Defense Did It’s Job: The Patriots struggled in the first half defensively but were able to turn things around in the second half and they played much better. Matt Patricia’s unit has gotten off to slow starts in recent weeks but thanks to some quality half time adjustments, they seem to be playing much better in the second half. That was the case again on Sunday.
5. We’re Onto the Jets: The Patriots have a chance to wrap up the number one seed on Sunday with a win against the Jets. It won’t be a walk in the park by any means but the Patriots should take care of business.
