Patriots Pulse Preview: New York Jets (5-10) at New England Patriots (12-3)

The Patriots close out the 2017 regular season by hosting the Jets at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots beat the Jets 27-25 in the first meeting between the two teams in week 7.

Here are five keys for the Patriots today.

1. Come Out of the Game Healthy: The Patriots are playing their starters because they want to secure the number one seed in the AFC. They are already banged up so it is imperative that they win this game but also come out of it healthy.

2. It’s Bolden Time! With James White, Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee all out today, expect a heavy dose of special teams ace Brandon Bolden. The Patriots don’t want to run Dion Lewis into the ground so expect Bolden to get 10-15 carries.

3. Get Kenny Britt and James Harrison Up to Speed: This game will be a good opportunity for the Patriots to get the two veterans up to speed. The Patriots are going to need both players to play prominent roles in the playoffs. Use this game to get Britt and Harrison comfortable with the system.

4. Deal With the Cold: It’s January and it’s playoff time. Dealing with the harsh conditions this time of year is important. It is all mental. Today is a good day to get mentally prepared for the elements moving forward.

5. Lock Up Home Field: The Patriots need home field throughout the playoffs if they want to get back to the Super Bowl. They need to win today. It doesn’t need to be pretty but they must get the job done.

Final Thoughts: Just win baby! The Patriots will win today and secure home field through your the playoffs. Brady and company know how important this game is and they will get the job done.
