Patriots Pulse Blog: Sorry Bobby, But Its a Little Too Late to be Coming to Brady’s Defense

The Patriots have decided to jump on board the Tom Brady appeal train as they filed an eight page friend of the court brief yesterday with the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Here’s what I don’t understand? If Robert Kraft was willing to go to court with Brady, why wasn’t he willing to take the NFL to court over the three draft picks the Patriots lost as a result of deflategate? I don’t get it?

I get that Kraft wants his starting quarterback on the field come September, but this whole thing seems a little too “Johnny Come Lately” for me. Where has Kraft been for the past year and a half? As far as I’m concerned, this is a total P.R move by the Kraft’s. Bobby wants to prove to Patriots fans that he has his star quarterback’s back. I think its a little too late. Kraft should have done this sooner. In fact, he should have taken the league to court last year. I don’t know why he didn’t? Now he looks like a desperate old man trying to save face.

Both Kraft and Brady are fully aware that there is a good chance Brady serves his four game suspension. This is a last ditch effort by both parties to have Brady’s suspension thrown out. I hope Brady wins his appeal but I have a funny feeling if he does, it won’t be because Bobby and the Patriots tagged along. It’ll be because his lawyers made a compelling case on his behalf.
