Patriots make a series moves ahead of Saturday’s game against the Chargers

The Patriots announced this afternoon that cornerback Marcus Jones has been placed on injured reserve and offensive tackle Caedan Wallace has been activated to the 53-man roster. Center Ben Brown is out tomorrow with a concussion. The Patriots also elevated wide receiver Alex Erickson and linebacker Monty Rice to the 53 man roster.

Jones season is over thanks to a hip injury. Jones had a good third season defensively and will look to build on it next season.

Wallace played in the first four games with one start at left tackle at the New York Jets on Sept. 19, before being placed on injured reserve on Oct. 4. His return helps the tackle depth.

With Brown, Cole Strange is expected to get the start at center  with Lecitus Smith backing him up. Brown signed with the Patriots in October and has stabilized the center position.

Erickson and Rice are both expected to primarily contribute on special teams. Erickson as a returner and Rice on all of the units.

The Patriots and Chargers kicks off at 1 pm from Gillette Stadium.
