  • Saints driving early. Good mix of run and pass. One thing they have done well when they have played well is be balanced.
  • The Taysom Hill package makes this New Orleans offense so tough to defend. You go from a pro-style passer to a dual threat running quarterback.
  • Bentley on the sack. Came on an inside blitz. 9 yard sack. Patriots needed that.

  • Patriots first possession will start on their 6 yard line. They need a good drive to start this game. It would be nice to play from ahead for once.
  • Eight yard run goes for not. Two misses for Mac and the Patriots are forced to punt.
  • Low snap there by Cardona impacted the punt by Beringer.

  • Alvin Kamara a big part of the Saints plan as always.
  • Carr’s pass to Graham was behind him. Patriots D gets another stop. Defense has bent but not broken thus far. Patriots second possession coming up.

  • WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT???? Mathieu with the 27 yard interception return for the touchdown. Mac is still locked in on the pass rush and you saw it there.

  • Offense just cannot get on track. Passing game is all out of sorts. Can’t complete anything right now.
  • On cue by Pop Douglas. Makes a spectacular catch and the Patriots get the 15 yard penalty to boot. PLAY STANDS AFTER REVIEW
  • Drive stalls. Ryland attempts 48 yard field goal and MISSES. Typical of this season.

  • Great job by Carr of improvising on 3rd & 11 results in a Saints first down.
  • Another great touch pass by Carr this time to Shaheed for a 32 yard completion. Saints set up inside the 10.

Saints 7 Patriots o: END of 1st- Mac’s pick six interception the story in the first quarter. Offensive woes continue so far.

  • 2 yard touchdown run by Kamara on 3rd & 2. Score now 14-0 New Orleans and the Patriots are once again in another hole.

  • Another 3 and out by the way. The defense is playing way too many snaps and it is starting to show. Billy O and the offensive staff need to figure out something on offense and fast.

  • Miller’s long completion put of the back field is further proof this defense is gassed.
  • Carr to Olave from 5 yards out and now the Saints are pouring it on. 21-0 Saints. Admittedly, did not see this coming. I thought they would come to play after last week.

  • I don’t think even the most ardent critics of this team last week could have predicted this. Awful start and quite frankly, it is a talent thing. I don’t think they came out flat.
  • DEMARIO DOUGLAS QUESTIONABLE TO RETURN.
  • Fans are calling for a tank and yard sale. Haven’t heard that around these parts since I was in  high. I’m 48.

  • Really like Kendre Miller. Liked him coming out of TCU. Good size and he has plus hands and is good in pass pro.

Saints 21 Patriots 0: Two-Minute Warning, 2nd Quarter

  • Patriots force punt. Not quite sure why Belichick opted not to take a timeout before third down?
  • 204-64 Total Yardage so far in the first half. OOOOF.
  • It’s a catch for Devante Parker. Patriots need to capitalize on this break.
  • Adebo with a big penalty aids the Patriots drive.
  • Annnnnd the drive stalls with a sack of Jones. Fools gold.

Saints 21 Patriots 0: AT THE HALF

Ugly half offensively. Patriots only mustered 76 total yards of offense. The offensive woes continue and there is no end in sight.

  • Ugly start to the half. Stevenson fumbles on a 3rd and 1. Cam Jordan recovers. This is going from bad to worse.
  • Blake Grupe with a 54 yard field goal for the Saints. 24-0 New Orleans with 11:34 left in the third quarter.

  • Good start. Jones to Bourne for 28 yards.
  • And the drive stalls. Down 24-0 you’d think Belichick might go for it. Opts to punt.

  • Defense once again gets a three and out. The offense has to pick it up here. They need a drive here or else you can kiss any thoughts of a comeback goodbye.
  • Another three and out. I really don’t know how fix this????
  • Both Ju-Ju Smith Schuster and Michael Onwenu ruled OUT with injuries.

  • Zappe chants have started
  • Montgomery tips a pass up in the air and the Saints pick. On point with today.

Ugly play continues. No rhythm on offense to speak of. Highlight of the quarter. Zappe chants have begun.

  • Saints are piling it on now. Foster Moreau scores a 6 yard shuffle pass. 31-0 Saints.
  • ZAPPE IS IN!!! I REPEAT…ZAPPE IS IN

  • Zappe goes three and out. Quarterback is not in the building folks. Sad reality. I hope I am wrong but I do not see that changing.

  • Grupe with a 53 yard field goal to add to the Saints lead. What a blowout.

  1. The OLine is needs to hold blocks better. Unfortunately I think this is not going to get better as the season progresses. How could they could get by with what they have at OT?

  2. Glad they took a place kicker in the 4th round…you had a reliable kicker in Folk, why not use that pick to try and improve a position of need?

  3. I’d seriously trade anything of value now. Philips, peppers, Bourne, Elliot, Henry…you name the player…shop them all

  4. Bottom line…as a great football coach I worked under one told me “sometimes it’s not about the Xs and Os but the Jimmys and Joes” the roster composition has plagued this team for 2-3 years. ZERO Dudes! No game changer
