FOXBOROUGH – The first voluntary OTA of the Jerod Mayo was Monday afternoon in Foxborough and we got our first look at the new-look Patriots. Receivers will have an opportunity to compete in voluntary OTA’s

Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster is healthy and ready to compete for playing time. The wide receiver position for the Patriots has been much maligned in recent years. Despite a concerted effort the last five years to upgrade the position, the production has not been there. The receiver room as a whole has been underwhelming.  The Patriots addressed the position once again this off-season by re-signing Kendrick Bourne, signing K.J Osborn and drafting…

Mayo talks DePalma, Tippett & decision to have a large staff

If you look at the Patriots roster handed out for Day 1 of OTA’s on Monday, you’d see a whopping 31 coaches listed down the bottom of the large sheet of paper. While the number may seem staggering, it really isn’t in today’s NFL. The only reason it looks and feels that way to folks around here is because of how small the Bill Belichick staffs were for the last…

Bo MacCormack takes over Elite League

At times, watching Bo MacCormack play, you run out of superlatives. Just know, the Syracuse verbal commit can do just about anything you ask him to on a football field. He is that good. The class of 2025 BB&N running back and safety proved it again at the Elite League “Championship Sunday” at Malden Catholic. He dominated all facets, and led his Dogs to both 8-man and full-11 titles. In……

Catching with up Jayden Bass after his commitment to UConn

Image courtesy of Jayden Bass’ X account I caught up with former Springfield Central offensive lineman Jayden Bass regarding his decision to transfer to UConn.  Jayden felt UConn was the best fit for him for personal and development reasons. It was not an easy decision to leave Syracuse but Bass felt it was what was best for him at this point in his college career. Being closer to home was…

Harvard announces its 2028 recruiting class

On Friday, Harvard announced its 2028 incoming recruiting class. It is the first class in 30 years that will not play for former Crimson coach Tim Murphy. First year coach Andrew Aurich and his staff did a great job of keeping the class together, adding 30 new players to the roster.  The class features gives 16 offensive players, 12 defensive players and 2 special teamers. The offensive group includes three……

Recruiting Roundup: Catholic Memorial

There were some things to like for Catholic Memorial in 2023. The Knights scored a big, conference win over Xaverian on the last play of the game in one of the more exciting contests of the season. But then, there were also some lowlights. In the second game of the season at Cardinal Newman of Florida, several Knights suffered serious injuries. In the postseason, CM lost to Marshfield, and fell……

Brissett ready to excel in whatever role he has

Days before the Patriots have their first OTA practice on Monday, Jacoby Brissett met with the media on Thursday for the first time since signing back with his first team. Brissett has been labeled as just a mentor for Drake Maye. While he wants to compete and win games, Brissett also is confused as to why people believe that’s a bad thing. “When I was here the first time…you realize…
