After a bounce back 12-4 last week, I’m looking to keep the good times rolling.
Here are my big game predictions for this week. Should be another great week of games in New England.
Here we goooo….
High School
Catholic Memorial at Xaverian: The Knights have had the Hawks number in recent years and while I think this will be a close game, I’m CM in a high scoring affair. Final Score: CM 35, Xaverian 33
Dartmouth at Barnstable: Battle of the undefeated squads but it is hard to pick against Barnstable these days. Ross Jatkola’s squad is rolling and look for it to continue this week. Final Score: Barnstable 28, Dartmouth 18
Foxboro at Canton: Foxboro is the standard in the Davenport the past two seasons and while Canton has bridged the gap, the Warriors are more physical and that should be the difference. Final Score: Foxboro 28, Canton 14
Andover at Pinkerton (NH): Pinkerton won this match up last season en route to a state title. Look for a much tighter game this season as the Warriors are much improved under Jay Fielding. This is a tough to pick. New Hampshire’s D1 programs have fared well the past two seasons against Massachusetts teams. That ends tonight. Give me the Warriors in a tight back and forth game. Final Score: Andover 30, Pinkerton 28
Quincy at Scituate: The upstart Presidents face a stiff test on the road against a good Scituate team. I think they will play well but Grayson Foley and Sailors outlast them. Final Score: Scituate 28, Quincy 16
Masuk at Killingly: The Panthers are more than good enough to go into the quiet corner and make this a game but picking against the Mighty Trailblazers is never recommended. Give me Killingly by two scores. Final Score: Killingly 35, Masuk 18
Maloney at Fairfield Prep: Maloney is quietly out to a 4-0 start but they will be tested this week on the road against a good Fairfield Prep team. The Jesuits are more battle tested and that will be the difference. I’m going Fairfield Prep. Final Score: Fairfield Prep 26, Maloney 21
La Salle at St. Ray’s: If St. Ray’s is as good as we think they are, they need to prove it tonight. I think they are game but La Salle won’t slip up this time like they did against NK. Give me the Rams in what should be a close game. Final Score: La Salle 24, St. Ray’s 18
Rutland at Hartford: At the beginning of the season, Rutland looked like the best team in Vermont. Since then, Hartford has told folks to hold their chocolate milk. The Hurricanes are rolling and I look for that to continue this week. Final Score: Hartford 28, Rutland 25
Marshwood at Kennebunk: Terrific Class B match up between two programs with state title aspirations. I think it is close but Kennebunk is good and they hold serve at home. Final Score: Kennebunk 28, Marshwood 25
Milton Academy at BB&N: The best rivalry in the ISL the last few years once again has big time implications. It should be a good game between two evenly matched teams. It is a tough one to pick but I am going with the Mustangs in a game that will come down to the wire. Final Score: Milton Academy 21, BB&N 18
College
UConn at Boston College: I have been drinking the UConn Kool-Aid for years but it is hard for me to pick against B.C here. They need a win. It will be close, but I am taking the Eagles in a high scoring game. Final Score: Boston College 31, UConn 28
Princeton at Brown: Bears are for real and people need to start putting respect on their name. I think they get more respect this week with a win over the Tigers. Final Score: Brown 28, Princeton 24
Merrimack at Harvard: It is hard to pick against the Crimson these days. Merrimack might compete for a half but stopping Harvard’s offense is tough. Give me the Crimson. Final Score: Harvard 42, Merrimack 17
Sacred Heart at Montana: The Pioneers will compete in this game but in the end, Montana just has too much. Sacred Heart acquits itself well in a loss. Final Score: Montana 38, Sacred Heart 21
Buffalo at UMass: The newly minted Flagship Cup is on the line. UMass will play hard but they simply don’t match-up. Give me Buffalo by three scores. Final Score: Buffalo 38, UMass 14
Patriots
Patriots at Titans: The Titans are a mess and the Patriots are rolling. This could be another tight game but in the end, the Patriots will pull it out and win their fourth straight. Final Score: Patriots 28, Titans 17
