It’s rivalry weekend in college football and several stories rivalries will determine which teams make the final four in college football.
Here are our top five match ups for Saturday.
No. 3 Michigan (+6.5) at No. 2 Ohio State: I think Ohio State will win this game because they have dominated this game in recent years and the Wolverines will more than likely be playing without quarterback Wilton Speights.
Michigan has the talent to pull off the upset in Columbus but if they have to start back up John O’Korn, they cannot win this game.
Urban Meyer knows how to beat Michigan. He’s proven that thus far. Today will be no different.
People are comparing this to the 2006 game in Columbus but I don’t think it’ll be that close. I like Ohio State by two scores in this game.
No. 13 Auburn (+17.5) at No. 1 Alabama: Auburn has had a nice bounce back season but there is no way Gus Malzahn’s team beats Alabama given how unsettled the quarterback situation is.
Nick Saban and the Tide know they can lock up the number one spot in the college football playoff with a win today. I think quarter Jalen Hurts will play well offensively and the Bama defense will stifle the Tigers offense.
I’m going Bama in what should be a big victory for them in the latest addition of the Iron Bowl.
No. 22 Utah (+10.5) at No. 9 Colorado: Colorado coach Mike McIntyre has the Buffs believing. Colorado has been tough in Boulder this season as evident by their win over Washington State last week.
Utah will play stingy defense in this game but their struggling offense will not be able to keep up with a Colorado offense that can push the pace and score points.
The Buffs are legit and if they want to have any shot at making a New Year’s Six bowl, they need to win this game. I think they will.
Notre Dame (-17.5) at No. 12 USC: The Trojans haven rolling since making Sam Darnold their quarterback. With a win today, SC could clinch the Pac-12 North title.
It’s been a long season for Brian Kelly and the Irish. Notre Dame has struggled in all three phases of the game throughout this season. It won’t get any easier.
USC is a heavy favorite in this game and I think they’ll lay the wood to Notre Dame. I like the Trojans big in this one.
No. 13 Florida (-6.5) at No. 15 Florida State: The Noles need that statement win. They haven’t gotten it yet this season. I think they get it tonight.
Florida will play good defense but I think the Gators offense will struggle to keep up. Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois need to play well and have a big game in for the Noles to win this one. I think he will.
That’s why I’m picking Florida State. They’ll win a close one.
