Week eight featured a major upset by Penn State and return to dominance by Leonard Fornette. Here my thoughts on the week that was in College Football.
1.Ohio State’s season is over. Two years after winning a national championship, the Buckeyes will once again disappoint the faithful in Columbus. I am sorry, but losing to a mediocre Penn State team is inexcusable.
2. Leonard Fournette reminded us of why we loved him so much last season with a vintage 284 yard rushing performance against Ole Miss. Fournette looked like a man amongest boys and is once again on track to be a top five pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
3. The SEC West is out of whack. Arkansas beats Ole Miss last weekend and gets blown out by Auburn this past weekend. What the heck???
4. Oh silly Texas A&M. You thought you were a contender in the SEC West until Alabama reminded you that they rule the roost when it comes to the conference. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I think this might be Nick Saban’s best team.
5. Alright, alright!! I’m buying West Virginia! After whacking TCU at home, I think Skylar Howard and company are legit. Jeesh!
6. Michigan State is bad, real bad. How do you lose to Maryland by 11 points? pathetic! Sparty will get destroyed by Michigan this week.
7. Washington State won again! This time they beat Arizona State 37-32. The Cougs are rolling folks. The Mike Leach Magic is back!
8. Fresno State had to fire Tim DeRuyter. The ship was sinking and DeRuyter wasn’t going to right the ship. Call me crazy, but I think the Fresno State job will be a popular job this off-season. The facilities are in place and the recruiting ground in Northern California is fertile.
9. I despise Texas Tech! Kliff Kingsbury and his stupid spread offense are ruining football! The Raiders score a bunch of points but play no defense. That might be fun for the average fan but I hate it.
10. Washington and Nebraska are flying under the radar. With Ohio State losing, both programs chances of making the college football playoff improved.
