Memo to Moritz. Guys in the NFL can run. Boehringer learned that valuable lesson yesterday at mini camp. When asked what he thought so far of his first mini camp, Boehringer responded with “the tempo is much faster” Yes Mortiz, it is.
Boehringer figured out pretty quickly that he is no longer playing against local yokels that work at the brewery full time and play football part time. He’s competing against some of the best athletes in team sports. Guys that can actually run. Boehringer is a good athlete, but as he found out yesterday, the playing field has been leveled. Now it’s up to him to rise to the occasion and play as fast as the guys he’s competing against.
Can Boehringer play in the NFL? Sure, at least from an athletic standpoint but make no mistake about it, the learning curve will be steep. It’s going to take Boehringer a while to learn the playbook and get acclimated to the speed of the game. Until that all happens, the game will be moving too fast for Boehringer.
