Maine quarterback Derek Robertson is entering the transfer portal. Robertson is entering the portal with one year of eligibility left. He had a career year in 2023, passing for 2,897 yards and 25 touchdown passes.

The Yonkers, New York native stands at 6-2 205 pounds and committed to Maine in 2019. He served as the Black Bears back-up quarterback for two seasons before finally getting his chance to start this season. In 2021, Robertson filled in for an injured Joe Fagnano and threw for 1,506 yards and 12 touchdown passes.

After a slow start this season, Robertson really came on finishing strong the last six weeks including two 300 plus yard passing games and a 490 yard passing game against Campbell.

Robertson is going to enter the portal as a grad transfer and as of now has one year of eligibility. He would be an ideal fit in a system that allows him to throw from the pocket and utilizes RPO’s. Robertson has plus arm strength and can make every throw in the book.

Robertson will garner interest from both FBS and FCS schools looking for a quarterback with experience.
