Les Miles Firing is Embarrassing for LSU

The administration at LSU proved just how incompetent they are this past weekend when they fired head coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron.

Firing Miles this early in the season makes zero sense. After almost firing Miles at the end of last season, the clowns who make up the administration at LSU decided to bring Miles back because there were no better options available. Nine months later, they fire Miles after a 2-2 start.

I understand firing Cameron. His offenses at LSU the last four seasons were underwhelming. It was time to make a change at offensive coordinator but to fire Miles, after deciding to bring him back for this season proves just how inept the administration at LSU is.

Miles deserved the opportunity to finish out the season and save his job. He has won a national championship and two SEC titles at LSU. He has earned the right to fight for his job. Its a shame that the administration didn’t see that way.

Several high profile names have already been linked to the LSU opening including Nick Saban, Urban Meyer and Bobby Petrino. Saban and Meyer aren’t going anywhere because Alabama and Ohio State are better jobs than LSU. Petrino has a good situation at Louisville but he’ll listen when the time comes.

One has to wonder why anyone would want the LSU job given the way the administration has handled the Miles situation. It is obvious that they care more about what the big money boosters want than making good decisions regarding the program.

I do think Miles and his staff deserved to be criticized for the performance of the team thus far this season but to fire him is just flat out embarrassing! It is a bad look for a football program that is among the blue bloods of college football.

The administration might think they are shaking things up but in actuality, they making things harder for the next coach. The LSU football program will take a step back.
