Keion White looking forward to facing a few old teammates this week

Keion White is a throwback to the 1990s when it comes to an NFL defensive lineman/edge rusher.

No nonsense. All business all the time. Will knock a guy’s D in the dirt if it means pure dominance over another human being.

White is also a guy who will say exactly what he means, even if it’s unintentionally pretty damn funny. On Monday following Day 10 of camp, I asked White if he was looking forward to finally seeing another jersey when the Commanders visit this week for a very important joint practice.

He quickly pointed out that he’s looking forward to seeing a few guys in particular, but other than that, White is only focused on White.

“Pretty cool, a lot of my guys are over there. A lot of my vets. So, (Deatrich) Wise, J (Jonathan) Jones, Carl (Davis), that’s going to be my camp fight right there. I got something for them,” he said bluntly. “Other than that, I don’t really care.”

Later on in his post-practice availability, White was asked to describe his game.

“I feel like my game has always been the same since I’ve been playing football. Just violent,” he added. “Let me go run through your face and then work from there.”

Joint practices are important for a number of reasons, mostly because teams are able to hit someone other than teammates for the first time in the brutal August heat and get some frustrations out.

It certainly sounds like White plans on taking advantage of that opportunity as much as possible on Wednesday, particularly against some familiar faces.”
