The Minnesota Vikings beat the New York Giants 24-10 last night to improve to 4-0 on the season but that’s not what we are talking about this morning.
Instead, most of the media attention once again centers around the antics of Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. who finished with 3 catches for 23 yards and acted like a complete tool.
Beckham was out of control last night. He had a difficult time getting open thanks to Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes. Rhodes completely shut Beckham down and took him out of his game.
Instead of Beckham stepping up and raising to the challenge, he acted like a child and started shoving and screaming at Rhodes. Rhodes did nothing to provoke the response, its just that Beckham has anger issues and he directed his anger towards Rhodes.
The Giants have a problem on their hands. As talented as Beckham is, he is an immature primadonna who lashes out when things don’t go his way. Ben McAdoo and his coaching staff need to find a way to get Beckham to stay calm and play under control. If they don’t, he could potentially cost them a game.
Beckham has all the talent in the world but its obvious that the attention he has received thus far in his young career has gone to his head. He has a sense of entitlement and if the Giants don’t find a way to rein him in and focused on football, they will have a major distraction on their hands.
Its hard to win games in the NFL but it is even harder when your best player has anger management issues and isn’t focused on playing football. The Giants need Beckham to keep it together because if he doesn’t, they will struggle to score points and win games.
