The Celtics will have some big shoes to fill with Jae Crowder out.
When it comes to who is the most important player on Celtics is, you might say Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley or Marcus Smart. I doubt anyone would say Jae Crowder. While Crowder might not be the most important player on the team, he certainly is an important piece. That’s why the news of Crowder missing the next two weeks with an ankle injury is a tough pill to swallow.
Crowder is a do it all, energy guy if that makes any sense. He can rebound, score, defend and he’s great in transition on both ends of the floor. Crowder does a lot of little things well. That’s what makes him such a good player and at the same time, that’s what makes him such a difficult player to replace.
Can the Celtics survive without Crowder? Sure, but its going to take a collective effort. Consummate team players like Crowder are not easy to replace. You don’t realize how much they do for your team until they are hurt. The Celtics already know how valuable he is to the team. Replacing him will be hard but guys will have to step it up and hold down the fort until Crowder comes back.
