The offensive skill guys in the NFL will dominate today’s edition of four downs. Here goes!
1st Down: DeAndre Hopkins Comes to His Senses: I’m glad DeAndre Hopkins decided to report to Texans camp. Holding out would have been a mistake on his part. While he’s underpaid, Hopkins still has two years left on his current deal and he’s not in a position to hold out. I’m sure the Texans will take care of Hopkins when the time comes. Holding out now would have been premature on Hopkins part.
2nd Down: Antonio Brown Should Get a Raise: Steelers receiver Antonio Brown hasn’t been shy about his feelings regarding his contract. Brown feels he’s underpaid and he’s right.
Brown signed his current deal two years ago and at the time, he was being paid as a top five receiver. Well, Brown is now the best receiver in the game. I think the Steelers should rip up his contract and give him a new deal. Will they do that, probably not.
Brown won’t sit out or anything but given his production and importance, the Steelers should do right by him and reward him.
3rd Down: Odell Beckham is SAWFT! To quote WWE superstar Enzo Amore, Odell Beckham Jr is SAWFT! He got cleated by teammate Janoris Jenkins on Sunday and you would have thought he tore up his knee or something. Give me a break! Toughen up dude! You’re the premier play maker in the league. You need to be on the field. Don’t act as if a Mack truck ran you over!
4th Down: Jason Kelce Not a DeMarco Fan: Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce is not a fan of DeMarco Murray. Kelce told 94.1 WIP that there was a lot of blame to go around for the Eagles struggles running the ball.
“I don’t think necessarily we had the best back that we had a few years ago either,” Kelce said, via PhillyVoice.com.
Yeah, Kelce didn’t particularly care for Murray. It’s obvious he preferred LeSean McCoy over Murray and I don’t blame him. I agree. Murray was a terrible fit in Philly. Chip Kelly is the only person who didn’t see that.
